Instruction covers the operation and maintenance of smaller tonnage HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and repair of air conditioning and heating systems. Subjects include direct expansion systems, reciprocating compressors, electrical controls, and forced air and direct fired heating systems. Both preventive and corrective maintenance procedures are included with 50 percent of time devoted to classroom and 50 percent to lab, with special emphasis on energy conservation and safety.
