NCED Historical Perspective:
NCED's history began with its establishment in 1969. During its first full year of operation (1970),
NCED served 7,000
United States Postal Service students in three training programs. All students were housed in the top few floors of the
University of Oklahoma's Couch Tower.
Today, the main
NCED campus at
NCED is a 72-acre, postal-owned site at 24 th and Imhoff Road in Norman, Oklahoma. Although the Postal
Service is still
NCED's biggest customer, whose employees attend job skills and information training, we also welcome other
businesses and groups.
We offer training for technicians, mechanics, computer specialists, managers, and many others. We can also bring our training programs to your location through on-site instruction, distance-learning networks, and satellite broadcasts.
