Maintaining and Troubleshooting Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Control Systems
Description
This NCED resident training course provides comprehensive instruction which encompasses the ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FlexLogix control system platforms currently utilized on a wide variety of equipment. The primary focus is on developing the skills essential to maintaining quality performance of Allen-Bradley Programmable Automation Control Systems (PACs), and restoring malfunctioning systems to operational status with minimal down-time and resources. Also provided are methods for optimizing and modifying system performance to accommodate each facility’s specific equipment requirements. The "hands-on learning" approach covers hardware specifications, requirements, installation, configuration procedures and fault isolation; as well as software operation, functional analysis, fault diagnosis, and essential modifications.
This course is rated EWP Category 2. Students must bring their PPE (Coats, Eyewear and Gloves) to training.
Learning Outcome
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to facilitate hardware system installation, configuration, and modification.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to maintain quality performance of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix and FlexLogix PAC control systems to prevent system failures.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to restore malfunctioning PAC control systems to operational status with minimal down time and resources utilizing hardware fault isolation and software analysis.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to optimize and modify PAC system software performance to accommodate evolving requirements.
- Explain the hardware and software safety concerns specific to the PAC system, as well as those specific to the PAC's interaction with the controlled equipment.
Target Audience
- Maintenance professionals who will have responsibility for maintaining equipment which utilize Allen-Bradley PAC (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, or FlexLogix) Control Systems.
Course Completion Requirements
The learner is required to attend the entire 104 hours of training and accumulate a total score of 70 percent or higher from the Fault Isolation Evaluation, Programming Evaluation, and the Written Evaluation.
Pre-requisites
