EPA Refrigerant Training & Certification
Description
This course EPA regulatory requirements and additional technical information necessary to effectively manage environmental concerns related to refrigerant management and ozone protection issues in postal owned or leased facilities. Existing and pending federal laws and regulations affecting the decision-making process will be covered. Clean Air Act guide-lines and standards, OSHA and USPS regulations will be covered. Includes elements of the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Amendment of 40 CFR.
Learning Outcome
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Knowledge of regulations established under Section 608, Clean Air Act.
- Required service procedures for refrigerant handling.
- Refrigeration recovery procedures and recovery items.
- CFC's and the ozone layer.
- Knowledge of Refrigeration Cycle.
- Practical application of the EPA Code as defined in Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation Code as it applies to the Transportation of refrigerants.
Target Audience
Any EAS or craft postal employees of various disciplines who maintain air conditioning equipment and/or other appliances using refrigerant and those employees who have refrigerant removal, disposal and management compliance responsibilities.
Course Completion Requirements
Passing this course requires the participant to: attend all training days and participate in all required tasks.
