Conduit Bending and Installation

 

 

Description

This course focuses primarily on National Electric Code (NEC) compliance, job planning, bending, installing and safety as it applies to thin-wall conduit or EMT. Blueprint reading, wire and other material selection will also be presented to enhance the knowledge of the products which will permit the student to work efficiently in the labs and on the job. This course will help promote a savings in time, money, and material resources for organizations.

 

Learning Outcome

 Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  • Ability to apply the National Electrical Code relative to installing thin-walled conduit or EMT.
  • Knowledge of safe practices when installing raceways.
  • Knowledge of sizing conduits for prescribed job.
  • Knowledge of reading electrical building plans including electrical symbols.
  • Knowledge to effectively plan a raceway installation.
  • Ability to recognize the proper electrical apparatus for a complete raceway system.
  • Knowledge of tools used to bend and install conduit.
  • Ability to efficiently bend conduit.

 

Target Audience

Entry level mechanics and electricians needing to improve overall skills as it applies to using proper techniques while bending and installing thin-walled conduit.

 

Course Completion Requirements

Passing this course requires the student to: attend all training days and participate in all required tasks.
