Automotive Electrical
Description
This course covers DC electrical troubleshooting, using a multi-meter in preparation for all types of electrical faults. Students will learn about: schematic tracing, relay circuit troubleshooting, and many other circuits (excluding the computer). The learner will acquire personal safety information, hand and power tool safety training, as well as fire and work area safety training during the course.
Learning Outcome
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Practice safe working habits in the Vehicle Maintenance Facility.
- Demonstrate an understanding of electricity and applications of Ohm s law.
- Demonstrate the proper use of a digital multimeter.
- Maintain and test automotive batteries.
- Trace signals using a schematic.
- Test and diagnose automotive electrical circuit problems.
Target Audience
Supervisors, Vehicle Maintenance Analysts, Lead Mechanics, Automotive Mechanics, and other selected personnel requiring this training for their present or scheduled job assignment.
Course Completion Requirements
Passing this course requires the student to: attend all training days, perform all required tasks and pass the final proficiency exam.
