Airborne Ultrasound Level 1 Training
Description
Instruction covers the theory, principles and practical applications of Airborne Ultrasound conforming to the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) for level 1 certification standards. Training includes instructor led classroom lecture and discussions along with instructor led and open participation student investigative labs.
Topics include:
- Effectiveness of Airborne Ultrasound
- Leak Detection
- Electrical Inspection
- Mechanical Inspection
- Steam Trap Inspection
There will also be a review of Proactive and Predictive Maintenance Concepts, generic troubleshooting methods and trending methods.
Test covers theory and practical applications of Airborne Ultrasound in compliance with ASNT level 1 certification standards.
Learning Outcome
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Describe the basic theory of ultrasound and its application.
- Perform hands-on use of ultrasonic equipment.
- Understand the concepts of ultrasound and its application.
- Understand the elements of proper sound acquisition and documentation.
- Document findings and write effective reports.
Target Audience
- This course is designed for personnel who use Ultrasonic measuring devices for predictive maintenance and/or other applications.
Course Completion Requirements
Successful completion of this course requires 40-hours of attendance and passing of written and practical examinations. Tests cover theory and practical applications of Airborne Ultrasound in compliance with ASNT level 1 certification standards.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
