Computers and networks are becoming ubiquitous in public schools.

Introduction to Oracle SQL and SQL Plus

This is an introductory course designed to answer questions about databases. This course begins with basic fundamental terminology and discusses why the use of a database is preferred over a spreadsheet. After introducing the basic terminology and commands used in Oracle, tables are created, data is entered into the table and the tables are saved. Specific formatting of the resulting data is discussed to produce reports in various formats.

Network Troubleshooting Basics

Network Troubleshooting Basics is specifically designed for individuals with some, little or no networking experience. Students will obtain hands-on training to identify network problems, evaluate solutions and make repairs. Various editions of the Microsoft Windows Operating System used, including Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Participants will troubleshoot over 27 network problems by using a network map, software utilities, link lights and various cable testers.

Network Infrastructure Cabling-Copper & Fiber

This course is administered by BICSI certified instructors and provides a combination of lecture and lab to present training material. Students participate in hands-on labs, including termination of 2-pair Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) and 4-pair Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cables, utilization of punch down tools to terminate type 66 terminal blocks and type 11 terminal blocks, identifications of color codes for 2-pair, 4-pair, and 25-pair cables, along with testing and troubleshooting.
